Smokeless loads

I just picked up a brass-framed Henry in 45 Colt. I plan to shoot mostly BP, but those times I shoot smokeless, are the starting loads listed in loading manuals mild enough for these guns? I'm guessing I want to stick to the lower CUP loads.
