You don't get the decoder ring until you have passed an inspection performed by the stitch police. ;) ;D

Are the secret chambers meant to hide the actual existence of the fabled "Stitch Police"?

The only way to find out is to send in your money! ;D

Hint:  If you expect to find some secret society doings your going to be disappointed ;)

The big problem is most of the wanna be stitch police can't pass inspection. ;)

That's a negative Trinity.  No need to hide them.  Them roam freely among us.  Forever willing to give opinions generated from research of periodicals and like material that is believed to be correct.  They may come across as hard headed and heavy handed but mostly they're just like you and me.........well like me anyway.  ;)

Please go back and reread my posting. It will give you the correct answer to your question in my opinion.

No discussion ever revolves around the number of threads, the placement of stitches or any such thing like that.  True stitch police perception.  As stated in other postings there are 3 levels of authenticity in NCOWS as proposed by Marlan Ingram.  Into which any shooter or NCOWS member can fit.

But I would challenge you to decide for yourself....

I believe and hope that NCOWS does not become the open free for all that the other Club is.... tennis shoes and teeshirts and baseball caps....  as some have stated can be found at shoots.

The secret decoder you refer to is the NCOWS By-Laws; approved and non-approved lists.  Still, some do not always come up with the correct answer.  I know I am still learning.

The term "Stitch Counter" is a generic term for far more than just counting threads.  Some can be constructive, some turns out to be durned silly, esspecally when the person being "stitch counted" knows far more than the one "counting stitches."

Since baseball and tennis were both played in the period, the term used should be "modern Athletic Shoes and Modern Baseball caps"  the generic "tennis shoes and baseball caps" shows that one needs to do more research to find out what a "period correct baseball cap and tennis shoe" would look like.  Not trying to pick on you pard, but we need to be sure of what we critize before we do. ;)

Thanks for pointing that out, no problem.

But I did not realize that authenticity correctness was required when trying to make a political statement/point. ;D

Shall we play some sticks(golf) at the next shoot also.  I do own one 19th century blacksmith made club. :D  Yes I know tennis and baseball were played during our time.

I thought total authenticity was what is was all about, or at least as much as we can. ;)

Sorry I always laugh to myself when "Tennis Shoes" are mentioned. ;)  BTW TR bought his first 1894 Winchester with his winnings from a tennis match. ;D

Bowling alleys were common in many frontier towns from the 1850's on.

Dr. Bob

Right on Delmonico,

I wouldn't know where to begin to try to be a cowboy.  I have no farm experience and have always live in the city/suburban setting.  'Sides, being a cowboy is hard physical labor.  Not my idea of fun.  See a few patients, deal some Monte or Bluff is more to my liking!  ;D
