And had surprising results.  Last September, after a shoot, I threw my .45 brass and shotgun hulls (mix of AA and Remington Premier) into an ice cream bucket full of water and dishsoap.  I didn't pull them out until last night.  7 months of bathing in their own slop and only 2 shotgun hulls had the primers rotted out.  The other shells and brass were fine.  A little stained, but that just adds to the "look".

I tumbled the brass for 24 hours.  Took them out a little bit ago, and you can't even tell it's the same stuff.  Nice and shiny.  I wish I would have taken a picture last night so I could post some before and after photos.  There was a little slime in the bottom of the bucket.  A nasty brown liquid that I poured out and replaced with fresh water and swished around before giving a final rinse.  Dryed for 15 minutes at 250 in the oven.  Rinsed out the shotgun shells, wiped the heads off with a paper towel, then tossed 'em in a bucket and heated 'em up with the wifes Hairdryer.  Dryed 'em out in short order.
