When I started out, I had a very few leathercraft tools. Mostly I was sewing buckskin, but I had the Tandy starter set, a rotary punch, rawhide mallet, marking wheel, leather shears, etc.

When I became interested in leathercrafting for myself for SASS, I started looking for stamps, etc. Tandy has them for $7 or $8 apiece, so I checked on eBay and eureka!!

They regularly have used tools and stamps. I just purchased a set of spot setters for $4.99 ($10 with shipping), so ya might check there for stamps and such at cheap prices.

Good luck. Doc
All America lies at the end of the wilderness road, and our past is not a dead past, but still lives in us. Our forefathers had civilization inside themselves, the wild outside. We live in the civilization they created, but within us the wilderness still lingers. What they dreamed, we live, and what they lived, we dream. -- T.K. Whipple

You're right Doc. I get wholesaler prices at Tandy, and I can find new tools on Ebay cheaper sometime, go figure. I have also picked up up a few really nice hides at great prices. I bought a beautiful hair on hide the other day for $100.00 less than I would have to pay at Tandy. Also a lot of vintage tools show up that are not made anymore. Just be mindful of feedbacks, if ther are too many negatives there usually is a good reason.
