How do I turn a coin into a front sight on an 1860 Henry

I went to shoot a rockchuck with my 1860 Henry today. I pulled the rifle out of the pickup, and when I looked down the barrel, my front sight was gone.

I have seen coins and pesos used as front sights and think that looks pretty good. A gold colored peso also shows up better when sighting on dark targets.

My question is: How do I do it? What do I use to cut the coin to shape and what is the best way to attach it? Any other pointers?

Thanks!

El Peludo

A friend made mine from a silver peso; just started filing, and cut to rough shape with a jewelers saw, but a fine toothed hacksaw would work just as well.

Thanks for the input.

What's the best way to attach the sight so it doesn't come off again?  It looks like it had some type of glue on it.  Is there a better way?  Solder perhaps?
