Oldelm,
You have to give us all the particulars when you get it home.
Is it really a smaller frame or??
Glad you got it. I wanted it but with the job in a tailspin and the two new guns arriving , i just could not spend the money on it.
Glad you got it Pard!

Howdy Charlie,..... sure thing,...I'll give you all the particulars, ....... with pictures, too.
I'm hoping it's a smaller frame. Thanks, bud. ;)

Oldelm

Well, Charlie,.......I received the Euroarms .36 Navy '58 Remington a few days ago, and am really happy with it, although I've yet to shoot it because it's been sooooo cold & snowy here. The frame is the same size as the Euroarms .44 cal. '58 Rem. The cyl. to bore alignment is perfect, and the bore  slugged out at .377 grooves, .367 lands., and the chambers are .375. It's in great condition for having been made in 1976 ("AB"  date stamp). I love the feel in the hand,... nice small grips with short 6.5" barrel makes for good balance. I can see why Comanche Kid favors the Navy.

Here are some pics,...... a comparison with the Euro .44 at top

An interesting thing is the brownish blueing on the frame only. It is noticeable when held in a strong light.
The barrel and cylinder are the dark blue,.....but frame is brownish. Has anyone ever noticed that before on a factory Remington replica?

Marshal Will Wingam

Thanks for posting the pics. I like the narrower grip of the Navy. It looks like a good one.

Oldelm,
My Euroarms has the same coloring. I think the brownish color comes from the hardened steel used in the frame. Glad to see You aquired one of these fine little shooters. I can appreciate it being to cold in VT. I grew up along the VT-Mass. Border. Unfortunately it was in Nazichusetts. Have fun with the .36 and if You ever feel it needs a new home, drop me a line. I have a line on another Euroarms .36 1858, but You can never have to many.

Oldelm

Marshall,......Elf Pard......that's quite a new look to your avatar,... Kinda like that ......LOL!  ;D

Comanche.............
QuoteUnfortunately it was in Nazichusetts

That about wraps it up, doesn't it. I was brought up there,....and glad I eventually moved north.

So your Euro '58 Navy has the same brownish frame color?  That's interesting,...I wonder if it isn't what's called "Plum Brown" blueing?  Well, it's one more thing that makes these Euroarms Rems unique. I guess it might be something they did  on the earlier Euroarms - Armi San Paolos.

Halfway Creek Charlie

Oldelm,
Your 38 Navy must have been one of the last Armi San paolo, unless Euroarms used up existing stock parts. I got a letter from Euroarms America and there is a sticker on the envelope stating 30 years of Euroarms, 1976-2006. somaybe yours was proofed before the move. Cool! Or Euroarms used up the stock already marked.

Charlie,.....that's interesting. In the Blue Book of Modern Black Powder Arms, Armi San Paolo is said to have started in 1971,.....and changed its name to Euroarms Italia S.r.l. in January, 2002. I wonder what the significance of the year 1976 is with that letter stamp you mention . The serial # of my Navy Rem is 05498X,.....
