Hello y'all,
Got another question for y'all. In the past I have seen double cased sets of 1851's and 1860's which include a detachable shoulder stock. I am making a custom case for my brace of 1858's and would really like to include a shoulder stock for the 1858's. Did these exist back in the good old days? Can they still be purchased or do I have to buy one made for the Colt and modify it for my NMA's ??

Thanks,
Craig

Never seen a add on rifle stock for the remmies , probally because of the revolving carbine model .. but you can buy the what they call a buffalo barrel that is 12 inches long from VTI gun parts and the rifle stock for the colts looks like it could be made to fit just about any old single action .. i`ve thought about this myself .. i was wanting a remmie carbine ... but a little pricey now for something i may hardly ever shoot . i don`t remember what the colt stock cost .but the 12 inch barrel is listed for a 100 bucks at VTI . let us know how it comes out .

EMF shows one for the 58 and list it here ... http://www.emf-company.com/gun-accessories.htm

looks like a Colt 1860 stock though

Seem to me there was a skeleton style in the day but can't find a photo ( again like a 73 Buntline Colt )
I seem to recall Lee van Cleef use one in one of the Spaghetti Westerns maybe "The Good ,the Bad and the Ugly"

I've had that one, from EMF.Unusally fine wood, and wood to metal fit.Comes with a new hammer screw that acts as a ''lug'' for attachment. On the one I had,the screw needed a few strokes of a file after assembly to reduce it's overall length, and allow the brass ''wrist''of the stock to slip over the hammer screw/lug.This operation took about three minutes.
