What is the best way to resize the bases? I use a Lee loadall Jr, which has no provision for resizing the bases.

I only reload BP, so, getting a brand new MEC is not an option...I just would not use it.

Ideas?

Dakota, if you are going to shoot them in the same shotgun that they came out of last ... there is no need to resize brass hulls.
I have 3 reloads on some of mine, none have been resized and they still shuck easily.

Hey Pard,
Mec makes a shotshell resizer that you can buy............it is not to expensive. I have one here that I have used for several years.

Ah, yes, been there, done that DW!
I load BP for a very picky 16 ga.  She won't shuck just any hulls.

The MEC squisher-thingy in the link Pappy put up works great.  I even squish the brand new hulls.  The Lee Load-All costs less that the MEC but the MEC is at least made out of metal ;D

Maybe you can find one used.  They are very well-made and if you get one, it should last forever.

I used the Mec Super-sizer for years in both 12 and 410 on my original Mec 600 Super loader. Since Mec came out with it's newer loaders I've upgraded to a 9000G that has the super-sizer built in.

My Lee Load All came with  metal sleeve I use in the first stage that resizes the base, maybe you can look on the Lee site and just buy that sleeve! ???

Howdy,

I use the Mec Squishy thingy too for my hulls that I load with Black powder and I really like it. It's Fast. I have the Lee load all with the separate sizing ring. The ring is a little slow and that's why I bought the Mec sizing machine a number of years ago.

I have a "MEC squisher-thingy"  ;D for 10 ga. I was having Win shells stick in my gun. I bought mine from Midway USA.

As already noted by Lucky Irish Tom, Lee Load-Alls come with a little sleeve for resizing the bases on the same down stroke as the depriming. They are then removed from the  base on the same downstroke as the primer seating. I have use them since back in the 1970s and they do a very good job.

For the Magtech brass i use a loading die from CH tool and die co. it resizes the brass and punches out the spent primer and then reprimes them. You use the die in a RCBS press and then finish loading powder, wad and shot in a MEC loader. The dies can be had from www.CH4D.com and by the way they also have a roll crimp die for 12 ga brass shells.
