First Report from the NCOWS Convention Site

The Countess and I, as well as Bob and Pat Croft, have arrived at the Site.

Depending on the weather, we plan on some antiquing in Omaha tomorrow.

Will, it was sunny when we got here, but has since clouded up. Weather reports are calling for freezing rain/snow tonight. Supposed to clear out tomorrow.

Now the real question is: Do you believe the Weather Reporters?

Rob, I have the most faith in "Eye Witness Weather" where you look out the window and see what the weather is doing.

I have one of those Norwegian weather rocks outside my window. If it's moving, there is some wind. If it's wett, it's raining. If it's white, it's snowing. If I can't see it, it's night time. If it casts a shadow, the sun is shining. If it's missing some darn Swede stole it!

But tell us please, how did you get it to work there in Wisconsin?

Are you sure it is not giving you the weather somewhere back in Norway?

Lars, the story is that it was handcrafted by a Norwegian immigrant named Ole and hand painted by his wife Lena. I remember him telling me "Ya by golly that vetter rock sure vill tell you the vetter by yummpin yimminey" or something like that.

UPDATE FROM THE CONVENTION:
The Congress met last night, we began with election of officers. Our new Marshal is Irish Dave (Dave Scott), the Deputy Marshal is Joss House (Danny Ellison), the Judge is Trap (John Torrence), and the new Secretary is QuickFire (Jack Bursovsky).

Congrats and/or condolences to all!

The short-stroke decision was unchanged.

We're going to look into a special NCOWS edition of SHOOT! Magazine.

That's all I can remember this early in the morning.

Talked with Books and he reported that the Originals Class was approved by about a 3 to 1 margin. Yaaaaaahoooooo!
