Howdy Ya'll,

I found this town by chance,  Hope its friendly.      I have a question for all you open top shooters here.   I want a pair of conversions and I dont want to wait for cimmaron to get on the ball.  So the only question is Kirst or R and D for parts and why???  No one on Sassnet couldnt ever answer my question with any type of good info.  I'll look to ride with ya'll when I get my guns done, if you'll have me.

Thanks Pards,

Welcome Rolinda!
I couldn't tell ya 'bout the gated conversions all I have is a Colt Dragoon w/ .45LC drop in from R&D and it shoots just fine. Are you goin with .38Colt or .38spl and a sleeve?
Let me give you this Buffalo Arms site Address. I think they sell Cimarron not positive prices are right alot of 1872 Open Top and 1860 Richard-Mason to pick and choose from. Here contact um and see waht the turn-a-round toime is on it. I think this is the best and cheapist way to go...Hell $411 .45LC, .44Colt, 44spl., .38Colt, 38spl... http://www.buffaloarms.com/browse.cfm/2,282.html

Major 2

yea, they sure do... unless you meant the type II which will be out by years end 06 ( rumor says sooner )

Have Henny Howell @ R&D do one for you , will take just about that long also...

About friendly ? we ride horses, shoot guns, and get dirty.... don't get no better that that, makes me friendly ;D

So Far I like the way ya'll think.    I wanted to build my next set myself (its a pride thing), other wise the cimarrons look real nice, with the charcole blueing and the case coloring.  I am not sure if I want to go to the trouble of relining the barrels, that sounds like a lot of easy ways to need new barrels.  Ha !    But I am not having any luck finding a hollow based bullet mold either so that bothers me.  If I cant locate one I guess that will make my decision for me.    Then the only question is Cimarron or R and D.    Thanks pards Keep your thought rolling in.
Im heading back to the saloon.
