Howdy good folks

I was fondling around with my ruguers to day, two mainmatch vaqueros in 44-40 and my .44 mag blackhawk. On an impulse i tried to fit the .44 mag cylinder from the BH, to the one of the Vqueroes, and it fit fairly good, had some slight problems I reaching full cock on one or two of the chambers, but that I think is the result of the freespin pawl in that particular Vaq.

It is an old idea I have been throwing around for a while actually, as the ruger 44-40 and .44 mag barrels have the same dimensions as far as  I know. And I do have a lot off .44 mag brass back home, and a another .44 mag black hawk with a spare cylinder.

That way I could use my .44 mag brass for smokeless and the .44-40 for BP.

SO...
Anyone got any idea if it is possible to fit .44 mag cylinders to vaqueros and still make them work with the 44-40 ones?
And is there anyone who know if a spare .44 mag cylinder is avaiable? I know ruger is a bit stingy about doing stuff like this.
