Got my Scout model from River Junction. Like it, too (except it is a 6X and their Web site says it is a 10X). I notice it fits me tighter from front to back and looser on the sides. Will just wearing the dang thing eventually equalize it to my noggin?

Forty Rod

It will after awhile.  Just wear it every day 'til it fits.

We could reshapre your head, but it ain't as permanent...the swellin' goes down after a day or two.

Get a hat jack and put a lillte steam from a tea kettle one the opening.  While it is damp and warm tighten up the hat jack a bit.  Don't over do it , you can always do more the next time.

Or stop by, it's kinda slow today, I'll be glad to stretch it for ya pard and we could go have coffee afterwards. ;D

Mr. Forty Rod: You, sir, are a card.
Del: I wish I could stop by, but as it is about 1,700 miles from the Rogue Valley here in Southern Oregon to Lincoln, I am afraid I might get there past closing time ...

Delmonico

Well I'll be back at noon tommorow. ;D

This is what I do. I steam the outside of the hat around the hatband until it's damp, then pull it down on my head. Wear it 'til it's dry.

I wear my hat on the way home from verk, 45 minute drive. Wear it in the rain and keep it on my head 'til dry, it keeps the raindrops off my specticles. Don't store yer hat in a vehicle if the sun is going to shine, it tends to shrink the hat to its original size and shape.

Fellas: Thtefine folks at River Junction have volunteered to take the 10X/6X back, and I think I will step up to their Boss of the Plains. I will report on how this ends, but I suspect it will be a happy ending.
Appreciate your thoughts.

Dr. Bob

Howdy Slim,

The comment about hats shrinking in a hot car is right on!  I got a great BOP from a friend who bought it and left it in the cab of his truck and now it fits me and not him!  Jus a little too big for Books, or it would have been his.  Guess this time I'm Goldylocks, "just right."   ::) ;D ;D ::)
