Not trying to cause a fuss, but we have a call going out for a Henry shooter's board.

We already have RATS, SSS, USFA, BOSS, SCORRS, STORM, and BROW, maybe more.  In addition, there are boards for other groups, as well.

In the past I have supported these, but now it seems we need a new board almost daily, and I'm rethinking my support of them.  I mean, honestly, how much can be written about buffao rifles, Rugers, Daisy BB guns, or aluminum horseshoes...whatever subject?  Really?

I'd suggest a seperate board for rifles, sotguns, and handguns, maybe one each for smokeless and black powder, and let all the "specialty boards" be wrapped into one of those.

I backed the buffalo rifles board, and it turns out it has nothing much new to offer. Like all the others, it has become repetitious and boring!  I can tolerate almost anyting as long as it isn't boring!

Food for thought.  Please pass the mustard.

There's fuel for thought in what you say, but keep in mind that everyone doesn't hold the same interest as everyone else. For instance, I rarely visit the Long Branch Saloon even though it's the most active spot on the bulletin board. Too me it's just a bunch of discussion about nothing such as you would find in a saloon. ;D

Most of the NCOWS members don't visit the Saloon either because most of the participants are SASS oriented and subsequently the doesn't generate NCOWS interest. I wouldn't suggest not having the Saloon just because it doesn't strike my fancy. I simply don't go there unless there is a specific reason. If you don't own or shoot a Schofield, Buffalo rifle, Spencer, Open Top or even a Henry, I wouldn't expect much visitation to those forums either.

There's a lot of users to this bulletin board, many of whom don't post but only read. So, there's a lot more than one's personal interest to consider when talking about too many forums. A neat feature that this forum has is the ability to collapse certain sections so you never see them. Another thing one can do is book mark the forums they want to visit and never have to see that there are a multitude of forums that are of no interest.

Also keep in mind that this board is privately owned and if Marshal Halloway felt that too many forums were a problem, he would not allow them.

what he said...ditto  :)

Well, in the interest of fairness, if you look at the poll conducted, only 10 out of 2206 CAS City citizens thought it was a good idea. All we need is another limited interest topic board that's not going to be used enough to justify it. There's already a board to discuss all CAS type firearms, so why not just use that existing one. The Marshal already has enough work for one man, and I for one would not want to add to his burden.

I don't post alot in any perticular board.  But I do browse alot and if I see something I might be interested in I take a gander.  I for one like the variety that there is here.  Granted I can see where it could get to be too much.  But I have learned alot fom the various boards and I trust in the Marshal's descretion as to which boards he thinks should be here and which shouldn't.

Personally I am the narrow minded, non-diverse, intellectualy bigoted, arrogant type who appreciates limited forums allowing me to interact with only those of similar thought  :D. It is by this means I can avoid cyber contact with lessor souls who seem content to wallow in areas of my dissinterest ;D ;D. I appreciate clicking on an item and getting straight to the point!

Okay, anyone up for a board for single shot deringers?

I have four of them and they are a blast.  Let's get some action going to make a side match for these little darlins...maybe two foot diameter targets at six feet, reload on the clock......... ::)
