Potential Lower Block Problem ?

I have a question to put out to those of you who are more familiar with the Taylors Spencer than I am.  I took the block out of the carbine yesterday to clean and found that the hole that contains the block spring in the lower block appears to be drilled to deep.  A portion of the hole actually comes through at that large circular opening in the lower block.  Is this a potential problem?

I have an original like that.  Shouldn't be a problem unless it affects functioning.
