The CAS-LIST in now part of the forum

CasCity.com started with the cas-list (cas-l) in August 1995 and as a discussion group operated by a moderated mailing list system. We had over 1200 members in 1999 and with a high traffic until online forums took over as the major tool for interaction between shooters.

This last year, a little over 200 members took part in the caslist discussions on and off, but the last few months, it has been long between the postings.

The software we used was out of date and did not work well with upgraded server systems. Since the traffic became so low, it was decided to close the list. All subscribers to the list was informed about this last night.

Most of the cas-l members are already members of this forum and will continue to interact with their old friends here.

Many is not aware of the subscription system on this forum which enable the members to read new posts and replies to posts through email. In other words, you can still have the forum work just like the caslist, but with one exception: You have to post on the forum.

You can enable the email services using the notify button on the board index pages or for a specific thread. For extra features on email notification, look up your profile page.

I have enabled my own profile settings like shown below to make the forum work as the old caslist.

Howdy Marshal,

Just a note of thanks for your groundbreaking CAS-L efforts. I have met many good people through the List-some only online, and some later in person. I am sorry to see it go. I know that many will show up here in CAS City.

Thanks for all your efforts, and time, and thought, that go into making the old CAS-L and this newer site a good place to hook up with people who enjoy the Old West and cowboy action shooting.
