Gentlemen, Where does one find a leather butt stock cartridge holder in leather?  It wouldn't hurt if it added a bit to the length of the stock, too.

 :)  Well Heck  ;)

Not really related.  However, for the longest time, I have had an "itch."  I suppose I should have done something about it when I still possessed a big pile of hunting rifles.  Oh well.  Butt, and However, the curved Brass Butt Plate on our Lever Rifles, might lend itself to highlighting a real suave and deboner "Cartridge Trap."  Would make nice flashy storage for that "re-load" when fending off a war party.  Wish I still had the old magazine with the plans/drawings.

I made this  butt stock cover for my 1873 Sharps Business Rifle, I'm tall with long arms I have a 15 1/4" pull, so I extended the cover my adding high density  foam to get my length , and molded the back to fit properly, it took some doing but it came out just as I wanted, Johnny McCray turned me on to this method, Thanks Johnny, it worked great... one more thing, I use a 90 degree center line to bore cut on butt ends of long gun stocks, this makes the whole long gun / rifle or shotgun stock fill the recoil, which reduces recoil by 40 %, a crescent shape is pretty but doesn't help recoil at all...

Many thanks for the kind word. This is actually like the student helping the master. Back in 2007, Ten Wolves was a big help to me when I started doing Leather Working. He gave me many excellent tips. Among them were using home made Walnut dyes and Skidmores Leather Creme. Thanks, TW
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

This is sound advice. I modified my '73 short rifle by getting rid of the crescent butt plate and adding a shotgun butt plate. It made a difference in the feel of the rifle, in addition to allowing me to shoulder it quickly without gouging my shoulder with a point on the crescent butt plate. It isn't even cut at 90 degrees. I also used a piece of one of those garden kneeling pads inside the butt cover. In addition, it's historically correct for you NCOWS shooters.
