it does not appear to be "lined."  I would venture yes, it can fit the original Short Barrel Vaquero.

My Method:  Wet the interior of the holster with hot water.  Wrap the Vaquero in TWO quart size ZipLoc bags and carefully stuff into the holster.  Set it aside for 3 or 4 days and allow to dry at room temps.  If you want the gun to come out easier/faster, add 1/6 inch thick piece of scrap leather on the ejector rod side of the gun, inside the baggie too.  Hope this helps.

Manchester, got it today. You boxed it very good sir. Tried my vaquero birdshead in it and its a little tight but goes right in. With a short barrel gun tighter is better. Planning to let it live in it for a while. Slides on my canvas prairie belt ok too. Thanks. Ed
