Need an old saddle as a photo prop

I'm looking for a broken down old saddle to use as a photo prop. Everything I've found on eBay is new, or darned close to new.

Any ideas on where to search?

A good place to start is at local pawn shops. Unless you live in a bigger city, then you might have a bit trouble finding one. There's always 7 or 8 cheap saddles at the pawn shop I frequent. We just got a new horse, so I might just have to check some out after work today. Also, there's usually a couple in the classified section of our newspaper. It really depends on the area you live in.

Watch local "farm" auctions. Check with local tack shops as they might know an individual who has one to get rid of.

I have kind of had a hankerin' fer one to sit on while watchin' the Duke on TV!!!

flea markets are another good place to search I saw one at a flea market about a year or so ago for$25 and once abit before that, I saw a McCellan for$75 if I am remembering properly...

Ive found several at garage sales and auctions in the $25 range. except when I really need one. I make barstools out of them. I seem to run on to them on a regular basis except when someone says " I need four of them right away." Salvation Army seems to have a few also. Good luck. DR.

Bottom Dealin Mike, I see yous from PA. You might try the Thurmont Horse Sale, You might just inquiring at a local Feed and Tack store bout borrowing one. I use mine but could lend ya one fer a short spell, if you can figure out how to git it to ya.
