I recently purchased a 1871 open top in .45 Colt. I had to do a little work on it to get it to run smooth. Then yesterday a friend who had purchased a 1851 Navy conversion only a month ago asked me if I would be interested in taking it off his hands. He decided he didn't care for it that much and wanted to move on to something different, so I am now the proud owner of Uberti's Wild Bill 1851 Navy conversion. I spent this afternoon cleaning it and making the hammer and trigger/bolt springs lighter. I also filled the gap with a spacer so the cylinder arbor will bottom out properly. A trip to the range is in store hopefully next week sometime. Here is my new-to-me 1851 Navy conversion.

How can you go wrong with a gun that looks that nice! Good luck with it.

Beautiful! The CC is outstanding. I'd love something like that just for the photo value alone. THEN it's totally functional! Wow, can't go wrong with that.

A fine-looking pistola for sure!  Uberti has made several versions of "Wild Bill" conversions, some with laser engraving.  Does this one have Wild Bill engraved on backstrap?

Abilene, no, the only enraving is the Naval battle scene on the cylinder. This is a Stoeger imported gun and has the short Stoeger-Accokeek-MD A. Uberti-Italy barrel stamping. It is Uberti's Outlaws and Lawmen series revolers.

These guns sure look good with ivory(ish) handles on them.

Though I am retired from gun plumbing, I expect you'll suffer some serious mechanical issues with your Knew-Two-Ewe Conversion.   :o  Feel free to send it to me and I should be able to resolve any issues for ya.  Should only take Two, Mebbe Three years.  Pro Bono of course.  ::) ;D

Abilene,

I saw this revolver when it was in the LGS and looked at it but thought it was a little expensive so passed. A few days later my friend called me and told me he had purchased a new revolver and brought it over to the house for me to gawk over. I sort of thought then it would only be a matter of time and I would probably own the revolver. It just happened sooner than I had expected.
