For a basic gun belt, Sportsman's Guide has Hungarian russet military belts in all sizes and unissued condition $29.99. These have blackened iron roller buckles with a leather anti-chafing tab underneath and sliding keepers. I have one which suits for holster carry or a Confederate infantry impression.

That would be a comfortable belt. Thanks for the information.

I made one with a similar backing behind the buckle, copied from a work belt my father had in the early 1900's. It's a very comfortable belt. I made one for a friend of mine years ago with a roller buckle and he still wears it. Won't wear anything else. I'm making a new one to replace his very worn out one. This is a pic of the copy I made.

How wide is that belt?

Sort of a misleading picture.  Looks wider, but it is just one inch:

They do have some other leather belts with different buckles that are 1.5-2" wide, and even less expensive.
