Hello RRio,

I've been using Black MZ, now discontinued, it was made by American Pioneer Powder.
So now I would suggest Shooters World Multi-Purpose Black, as it's made by APP.
With this stuff you have no need for bullet lubricant, I shoot mine dry.

American Pioneer Powder (APP) or Shooter's World Black.

With APP use 3F as it will meter through most powder measures. APP 2F does not meter well as it is really coarse.

Shooter's World Black only come in one granulation.

The shooters world BP sub is 3F.

:)  Ah Yessssssss  ;)

I absolutely love this question.  Even when everybody else has beat me to it.  SO:

APP.  American Pioneer Powder for short.  Superb BP substitute.  Easy to clean up, requires absolutely NO lubricants, or if your bullets have a smokeless crayon lube, APP doesn't care, shoot away.

I also recommend 3F.  3F will meter through most powder measures and runs through my Dillon just fine, though I do use the "large" powder bar.  2F doesn't meter well at all.  Bridges badly as it is quite coarse.

Shooters World Multi is Black MZ by a new moniker.  I haven't used the new stuff so can't comment on how well is does or doesn't meter.  Just as easy clean-up.

If you have trouble finding APP locally, give "Bullets By Scarlett" a shout.  Fix you right up you betcha.

I've been experimenting with the 3f APP in a .36 caliber percussion revolver with a .38 conversion cylinder. Haven't shot it a lot, but so far it seems to be working quite well.

I've had the APP for awhile. Just now found a good use for it.
