Nice lookin hogleg Pappy. I think and IMO the Richards II is the neatest looking Colt of those converted. The original Richards had the same look but its not readily available. Something about that barrel lug I think. FWIW though I prefer the looks and feel of the original 8" barrel. Mine is chambered in 44 Special but about all I ever shoot in it are handloaded 44 Colt rounds with mostly FF Black (maybe some FFF once in a while). Bullet is the cast 44 Mav Dutchman pure lead.

At one time I had a pair of the Type II conversions.  I personally found them to be rather heavy and didn't keep them.

At another time, I had eleven of the previous Armi San Marco "1860" conversions.  They were the must accurate .38s I have ever fired.  I had 11 so I had parts to keep two running for CAS.  I think them the sexiest guns I ever owned.

Cut the sucker! This one was one of the first run of 8" .44Colts. Cost me $165 to have it cut and the dovetail front sight installed. It needs to go to the engraver.

I agree wholeheartedly!!  Except.  Pappy already had it Chopped, Channeled and the headlight Frenched.  Proper cut too.  Took the barrel back to the Ejector Housing!!  Tiz now Mucho Primo!!
