Well, if I was a Ruby, I'd be pleased with it. Is that a copy of an original? Looks good, Major.

Yes Sir, I've seen 2 or 3 not dissimilar variations of French designs, looking on-line.
This is my version of one of the simpler and seeming more common of one of those.

Course the gun is manufactured in Embar- Basque Region by Gabilondo y Urresti (Llama)

Here's the thing, some guy brought it (Ruby) a P-38 w/ Waffen marks (but miss matched #'s) and beater S&W model 1 1/2 Top Break revolver to my friend LGS., all three had been Rattle Can painted semi-gloss black.  :o

The Ruby's grips had been varnished or poly coated gloss (see photo)

I rescued the Ruby and removed the offending paint; the original finish is about 60% + bluing thinning.

The P38 sold for $500 and I assume the same has or will be been done...The S&W is still there and could be worked on but of the three is appears way rougher...

Final trimming and buff to the holster

Great job Major. Your Pistol looks right at home in that Holster.

Many thanks for sharing this with us.

Major 2

I have shot the Ruby and it handled nicely, here is the finished shadow box as it will be displayed.

The medals are original a WW1 French Victory Medal and a French Croix De Guerre.

That's a fine shadow box, Major. That would make any wall look good. Congrats on the great job on it.
