Welp  I decided to work up a pattern , it a stylized Austin design

I had to lay it out on a piece of scrap leather and it would only fit rough side out ( I kinda like it ) and the smooth side is inside 

anyway the pattern works and I may finish this one..  and give a test run , before I make another

That looks like a good pattern. It's kind of fun to see the rough-out, too. Sometimes I make a test holster from belly leather, too. That lets you perfect the design.  I still use the test holster for my Frazier pattern to carry my pruning shears.

I have some refining to do , and its still wet from some molding...I need to sew the main seam
and tack the toe down .
I'm thinking I have serviceable holster , till  I decide what I'll do

Looks pretty good. For pattern testing, you can just put some speedy rivets in it and avoid all the stitching.
