Found a brand new copy of "How to make holsters" by Al Stohlman. Got it in the mail about an hour before we left for the holiday weekend. Just long enough to glance through it. They even have a holster for a Luger! WOOHOO! ;D

That book is full of good designs. It's the one I bought many years ago to make my first holster.

Yep, excellent book, I got it too. I don't use it for patterns though, as I do those from scratch, but more for design ideas. Aside from that, it was chock full of useful tips.

Same thing for me.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

The more patterns the better,  Al Stohlmans and Packing Iron have been my go to books for designs, as well as Will Ghromleys patterns and for modern styles I do my own designs, it's great to have all this available to us...

Hi
I used the pattern on page 21, that's a veiner pattern on a holster for a 3rd Model Dragoon that I haven't shot since the 90's.

It was the first book I bought when looking into leather holster making. Sat on it for about a year before I finally decided I was ready to actually start trying my hand at it. Great book with lots of good info in it.
