Recently added this to my very modest 1873 rifle collection. I already have a couple of Uberti rifles and they are nice rifles, but this new Winchester is something else. Just haven't been able to get to the range with it yet.

Abilene, I decided on Winchester's .357/38 special since ammo is readily available and reasonable. I realize the caliber isn't original but I also have a '92 in .357 and it is a fun rifle to shoot and very accurate.

I also have two other 73's. Bothe are Uberti's and one is in .45 Colt and the other is in .44-40. Here is a photo of all three together.

I have done a little hunting with the one in the middle in .45 Colt. Killed several large feral hogs and hunted Whitetail deer although I have not take a deer with it.

Beautiful wood and case colors. You couldn't have hand picked a nicer specimen.

LB001, here are a couple of better photos of the wood.
