I'm in the search an original 1860 CW gun, and most seem to be in the original 56-56.  Just called Buffalo arms and the CH4D dies are at least 1 year out from being available.  I currently have a set of Lyman 50-70 dies, wondering if these could be modified to successfully load 56-56?  Thanks,
SH

Just found the link where rim fire used 50-70 dies, so it  looks like it may be possible.

Steady Habit - I have both an original 1860 Spencer, as well as the 4D Dies from Buffalo Arms, and the Brass sitting unused for the last few years. The Spencer has a S&S Centerfire conversion. I also have a bag of Blanks for use in CW reenactments. Have been considering hauling it up to Gettysburg in the spring and putting it on consignment at Horse Trader. if your interested in a package deal. I have posted pictures on this site in the past if you search them.
