1lb bees wax
6oz bol-wax (thats a #1 bol-wax ring from the hardware store)
6oz crisco (one of those crisco "sticks")
6oz canola oil

Melt it all down at 375 for 30 min in a big frying pan in the oven, then, pour into pans with bullets layed out in propper fasion.

(8x8 pans work quite well for 50 bullets staggered)

Pyrodex Select and Pyrodex P work just fine with it.
777 doesn't need it, but, I think it helps

Sounds like a good recipe to me. There are so many out there that work just fine. I guess it's just a matter of what works best for you and your area if you live where it's alway's hot or cold.
I Like one large tube of wonder lube melted with 1/2 real  bees wax and sometimes some candle wax thrown in . I want it thick so it doesn't run but I want it thin enough that it acts as like real  lube and not just a thick wax.

Does yours pan lube well at all?

That is what makes me want to stay with one lube recipe vs. another...

DW, I'm sory but I don't understand the question. What does "well" mean?

Dakota Widowmaker

How well does your recipe work for thost that pan lube?

My recipe has turned out to be fairly good at pan lubing and still help in both cold and hot weather.
(hot weather is a bigger problem, since that is when I generally shoot BP loads, even though I live in a cold state)

I use the old Matthews formula of 2 parts beeswax, 1 part neetsfoot oil (not compound) and 1 part Murphy's Oil Soap, but I have not tried pan lubing with this. I shoot black, mostly.
