The Pathfinder

The Original Jared or Camp Supply Mercantile in Hico, Texas? A lot of what I see looks like the same items that WPG has, but a few extras that look interesting. Was wondering if anyone had done business with them and their impressions. Thanks ahead of time.

pony express

Tried to go there, but "This site is not secure".... computer didn't want to go.

The Pathfinder

Sad too, they had a couple of items I haven't been able to find anywhere else. But in this day and age I don't think I'll risk it without trying to contact them by phone first. And then be real cautious.

Major 2

You might try the BBB in their area or Google them for bad reports

Ahhhh I see what you mean ..bad JUJU that !
when planets align...do the deal !

WPG is helping back the Grand Muster if you use our link.  I try to do as much of my business with them as I can.  Good folks.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .

The Pathfinder

I have and use a great deal of Jerry's finest. But this site listed a number of barracks equipment, cleaning rods and SAA hangers. Was considering making my own, when Google searches for pictures it lead me there where they were for sale for $45. They also lost early metal cleaning rods for both Colt style and the S&W at $20. Looked interesting, but not interested in getting burned. I'll try to follow up on them to see, but not over the internet.

Professor Marvel

Well, I "armoured up" and using a sandboxed browser, went to

http://www.theoriginaljared.com/

first, it is not https, which is why the browsers say "NOOOOOOO"

second, the front page still has some "Lorum Ipsum" on it. This is garbage verbage used by auto web page makers to fill in space
not a good sign.

last when I go to their own  " About Us - reviews" link I get a title page called "HYPE"
and the page says

"The product you are trying to view no longer exists."

all bad signs...

Thank ya', General, but the barracks hanger was more of my major interest. Broke down and have (hopefully) ordered enough stuff to try to replicate one myself, heck may have enough to do 4-5. Will see how it works out once everything shows up. if it goes well, I'll post pics and sources if anyone else wants to try.

Barracks Hanger?  ???

Rifle racks looked like this:

Or are you talking about the shelf with the closet rod surrounded by a curtain where they hung their dress uniform?

No,sir. If you do a Google search for 'Colt SAA barracks member's you'll see what I'm trying to build. There isn't much on them, they are mentioned in Kopec's books. Not much more than a couple pieces of chain, a hook and a plug. Something to while away the time.
