Just moved to North Florida and I was hopeful that you guys might have or know about matches down around my neck of the woods. Thanks!

My bud moved to Sarasota last year and I want to visit him in the fall but would also like to take in a real zoot or WB match as we don't have them very often but haven't found anything yet. Add me to your 'looking for a Florida match' list.

None I'm aware off ....

Zoot never took off here, and WB pretty much dried up after a few attempts.  3Gun died years ago.

NCOWS is present, but lack of shooters make formal matchs un-attended .

SASS is some where Statewide , every weekend both days
when planets align...do the deal !

If you are on the panhandle(best Florida) try the Panhandle Cowboys:  http://www.panhandlecowboys.org/

A good SASS club will often allow you to experiment with different things, my local club runs both a Military class for we GAF types, and a WB class in their regular monthly matchs, as well as letting me use their range for my annual GAF match.

In addition, you may have a modern 2 or 3 gun action match in the area, the guys with Glocks and AR-15s.  They often either have a class for older weapons, or simply welcome you to try their game with your weapons.   I read the publication of the Grarand Collector Association recently, where a member went to a modern combat match with a Garand and 1911, had a grand time and finished middle of the pack.

Our match director let me start a Prohibition era category at our cowboy club here in SW Georgia.  I shot it this weekend for the first time and had a great time.  I mainly shot a pair of 1905 M&P DA revolvers, Rossi 92, and a Browning autoloading shotgun.

You almost had a WASA match. Add a 1911 loaded with only 5 rds in one holster and a DA in the other. Nice outfit there Tornado, kind of the Frank Nitti look without the sudden stop. What's the name of your club, might be on the way to Sarasota.

Thanks Ed!  The tiny club I shoot with is the Providence Spring Rangers at Camp Sumter Range, near Andersonville, Ga(yes, the notorious prison camp is just two miles away).  We shoot on the 3rd Saturdays of the month.
