I always wanted a Super .38 [yes, that's it's original name] and when i found a barrel cheap, I decided to jump in. Unfortunately. when it arrived from Sig, it was a ramped barrel! So I couldn't use the frame I already had without a couple hundred in shipping and gunsmith charges, so I ordered a Caspian frame, Rock Island slide Wilson and Colt parts and turned it over to my gunsmith for fitting and trigger. Got it back and learned why hand polishing is so expensive! Modified the rear sight to look like one from the 1934 King's catalog. Temporary cold blue so i could see the flaws, had a jeweler letter the slide in 1929 style, so now I have to decide whether to leave it as is, looking like a slightly worn gun, or strip it and have a 'smith hot blue it.

Changed out the grips to some "ivories" and set some Mexican 2 Peso coins in them. Felt just right as the Super was very popular down around the border.
