Anyone know about this?
Checking out  the auction sites today and ran across a Taylors Photo engraved SAA..
Don't really care for the engraving .But noticed it was stamped with a two line three pat. date..
Is this just a special run,,or is Uberti?.Pietta ?..Switching the dates on their guns?.

Yep.  Where and "if" and how of the patent dates is mostly dependent on the Phase of the Moon.  Oh, and couple'd with day of the week.  Let us remember, we're not taking exact reproductions here.   The Uberti and Pietta are nothing more than replicants that approximate the original sample examples.  If you drop back just a ways, there was a time when Pietta didn't bother with "patent dates" on their SAA replicants.  After all, they ain't "Originals" in any sense of the work.  Don't let it bother ya.  Absolutely matters not at all.

Oh, ..... Wait ..... Mike Harvy @ Cimarron likes patent dates.  Mike cares about patent dates.  I actually don't remember going out on a date with patent.  And ..... I never ..... EVER ...... forget my sweetheart's Birth Date.

Hmmmm,,,Not sure what difference the patent dates would have on the handling quality of the gun,,,But I do know when I replaced a 5 1/2" barrel on my ASM with a Colt 5 1/2" barrel, the gun felt Sooooo much better in my hand.  ;D
