Guess I'm officially starting a new adventure. In the same way I re-commissioned my First Model '73 with on-line parts and stolen borrowed knowledge that y'all left strewn about the interwebs, I am starting a "what-if ?" with this Ideal tool that got delivered yesterday.

What if Winchester had offered a Trapper in the late days of the M1873 production in 25-20? I'd like to play with a toggle-link in that little varmint round. Any thoughts?
Responsive, timely, tactically accurate, and strategically precise fire.

My experience with 25-20 is in 1892's and found that cartridge to be lots of fun and dirt cheap to reload. It would be really cool to see it in an 1873 platform and hopefully mated mated with a SAA Type revolver in the same caliber.  I have allways been curious why Colt made 32-20 revolvers to match rifles in that caliber but not 25-20.

Scrubby,
I had that same thought a few years ago, even went so far as to get a 25-20 liner and chambering reamer. . Then I read a little more and saw where the pressures for a 25-20 were higher than for a 32-20, so I nixed that. I'm trying to remember where I found the pressures, but I cant. I looked about for a 32-20 I could reline "in my price range", couldn't , so just gave up. Have fun.
