Just watched The Professionals again last night so in keeping with the previous interesting, informative posts about the accoutrements of Lee Marvin's character in The Professionals does anyone have any knowledge of his 1903 Springfield blue .30-06 bandolier that he wears across his chest. Looks so small that I'm guessing that it was a waist belt but I'm curious how it was connected to itself over his right shoulder. The plain part of the belt is on his shoulder while the ammo loops extend under his left armpit. I have a blue 50 rd cotton belt that was for 45-70 but it will hold '06 rds ok. Thinking that if I soak it and let it dry it will tighten up some. I also have a pair of those cute little binoculars that he sports.
My favorite line, ' Amigo, we've been had.'

Another, 'Peace brother.'

I'm not sure cotton will shrink up any if you wet it. Maybe if you used boiling water but then you run the risk of trashing the belt. If it works as is, just use it. If the loops are a slight bit loose, perhaps you could just run a second stitch line right next to the ones between the loops to make them a bit tighter. Just do them all on the same side so all the loops are adjusted the same.

The belt specifically fits the .30-40 Krag and is secured by a 'C' clip.

It was designed as a waist belt with provision for a canteen strap clip.
