Looking at some of the movie stills from HOSTILES, I saw Christian Bale's character with an interesting sheath for his knife...I had previously made a pseudo Fair Weather Christian Belt for my 1851 Navy Conversion and thought this would make a good addition.

Not too bad for making it up as I went...LOL.

...might have to move to a Scout impression for next season.

Great looking on both parts!    Now another reason to see this movie to checkout the leather.

Having the knife handle stick up above the belt like that is asking for an injury. Especially for a horseman on rough stock. Practical knife carry usually has the butt just about at the top of the belt line. Of course we all know that movies are not a lesson in practically anything.
