Where to get extra long toggle links?

A buddy of mine, an armorer, came by today with a rifle he'd been asked to fix.  It was a mid 70's 66 in 38 special.  Basically it's got way excessive head space, something like 0.110" headspace.  The bolt had been bent somehow, but apparently the toggles and pins are in good shape.  I'm figuring somebody had an excessive charge and that bent the bolt and opened up the headspace.  He'd already straightened the bolt, it's butter soft.

Anyway, it looks like the easiest way to fix the head space is longer toggles.  I could machine a set, but I know the customer is not going to want to pay my shop rate.  I could face the bolt out but that include making a longer extractor and a new cartridge support.

It's possible the headspace was excessive from the factory, as the toggles match the current ones he got as replacements, and the pins are in good shape as well.  If headspace opened up, only thing I can think of is the bolt squished back some.  I will state that I haven't been into the rifle and checked it, only going by what my friend stated, but he's not likely to say something that isn't so.

Thoughts?

Pioneer Gun Works and Cowboys and Indians both make toggles to adjust headspace.  As you have seen the gun, can you verify that the frame has not been stretched?  Look for any space front or rear where the sideplates fit.

I haven't done a thorough inspection, but from what I've seen it doesn't look like the frame is stretched.  From what I understand, the bolt is still fairly tight against the forward frame mortice when in battery.

Thanks, I'll forward the info to him and let him take it from there.
