Papa Bear,

As far as I know Navy Arms is the only one selling that pistol, I just picked up one and I am very happy with it.  I have not seen them on line very much in that caliber.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it, before tax's, etc?

So my sugestion is checking him out.

However.... A schofield in 44-40 ??? what!! Thats like leveraction .45 colt (sigh...)  :P
How can youe experiencing the joy of a total lock up of the rifle in mid stage, because somehow and very mysteriously some 45 cartridged sneaked inside a 44-40 rifle :o

All of my CAS guns are in 44-40 except two of my Remington pistols which are in .357.  I don't shoot .45 Colt so no problems.  I reload alot of different calibers and do not want to do another.  And I prefer the .44-40 over the .357.  Bigger boom and smoke in the larger case. ::)

Papa Bear,

I got mine off of the board I cannot remember if it was here or the Frontier Spot.  I beleive that it was $650 not counting shipping or FFL.  I have not seen too many of them for sale in that caliber, but I do know that they sell them through Navy Arms they are a bit pricy at $895 I think.

Papa Bear,

I feel your "pain." I just joind SASS (obvious by my badge #) and this is my first post - hope ican help out.

I decided on Schofields for my revolvers and found as you have the availability is spotty at best. I did manage to locate a Navy Arms 3.5" .45 Colt ($689.00 + tax) and have a pair of 5" "Wells Fargo" .45 Colt on order at a local dealer thru Uberti ($700.00 ea.+ tax). Dixie at Navy Arms wa extremely helpful. I only went Uberti due to time available.

Navy arms only sells thru distributors, but they DO list distributors on their web site.

I see you are in California - Navy lists Acusport as a distributor for the western region. (www.acusport.com) (800-543-3150).

If they will speak with you - check stock and have your local dealer order thru them.

I hope this is some help in your quest.
