Howdy pards,

Knowing that there are a wide variety of people here with different real world jobs and experiences I thought I would ask for ideas as I am trying to help a friend out. She suffered a house fire, at her father's yesterdat, where she was staying while house hunting after apartment complex was sold, the house will be uninhabitable for about 6 months. Besides the Red Cross and Catholic Charities, can anyone think of any other groups or organizations that might be able to help her get into a new place? I thought of her church but she is not a member.

Thank you for any thoughts or ideas you might have.

Look into a rent a shed. With the new "Tiny House" movement going on, they have some pretty nice ones. We have a "Deluxe Lofted Cabin". It will need to be finished out for a permanent home, but you can make do with the bare bones.

She might want to check with the state or city housing authority.  If they can't assist her, I'm sure they have contacts for folks who can.

Capt. Quick,

With 3 teenagers, I am not sure she is the tiny house movement type, but I will mention it to her.

Sergeant Klondike,

I will ask her about the housing authority. I think since she was already looking for a place that she has touched bases with them, but not totally sure.
