I would REALLY like it if I could go to an event two weekends in a row.

Maybe hit the big June even with the NTR one weekend, then, stay the week with relatives and make it to the FDR big June event.

A schedule of "proposed" events and dates would be highly appreciated.

Also do you folks do a reload on the shotgun during stages?

I need to put in for vacation and maybe work it into a business meetings in the Des Moines and Omaha areas. ;)

Dakota Widowmaker,

FDR shoots the first weekend of the month April through October. NTR shoots the 4th weekend of the month April through October.

If you are thinking of attending FDR's Annual three-day match in June (June 2-3-4), and want to catch a match at NTR, you might want to go to the May match at NTR, which is May 28. Monday, May 29 is Memorial Day and then the following weekend would be FDR's "Shoot Out at Coyote Gulch." Hope this helps with your plans and we do hope to see you on the range this summer. Both clubs have GREAT ranges and GREAT people!

As far as reloads with the shotgun. Most of NTR's stages call for none, two, or four shotgun shots. Once in a blue moon there might be more than four, but not very often. The shoots we have shot at FDR seems to be about like that as well, but maybe someone from their posse can answer better as far as their shotgun reloads are concerned.

Be sure and check out the NCOWS website, Lone Gunman has added a 'Calendar' with all the NCOWS Official and Posse events as well as downloadable info regarding registration, etc. Right now only the 2005 schedule is posted but the '06 will be up soon. It can be seen at: www.ncows.org
Best regards and hope to see you next year!

P.S. If you are interested in some Mid & Long Shoots, CVR has a solid schedule of events for '06, all their events will be listed on the NCOWS website and you can get the CVR '06 Posses Shoot info on their website shoot schedule at: www.cedarvalleyregulators.org

Cal and Lou-

This is exactly what I was looking for info on.

I will plan on being at the NTR match and then be at the FDR 3day match.

This will be a fun season...

Thanks all!!!

Dakota, as a member of the FDMR, I'll try to answer your questions about our three day shoot. Friday is side match day, beginning at noon we have speed matches for all main guns including pocket pistol, long range, precision rifle, precision .22 rifle and usually one or two combined gun matches. Sat. is 6-7 main stages plus the team event. Sun. is 3-4 main stages followed by 3 top gun events,(Men's, Women's, and Working Cowboy). The scores are added while the top gun matches are being held and awards are handed out after. If you have any questions let me know and I'll try to answer them. Also the NTR range is one of the best I've ever seen, their scenerios are fun with a nice mix of humor and challenge. Hope to see you in June.
