At a gun show today and spotted a Remington rolling block carbine in rimfire Spencer .50 cal.. Went to my copy of George Layman's rolling block collectors book and found that it is a type 2 rimfire action. It is thought these were purchased by France at time of Franco-Prussian war.
Neat light weight gun and it could be shot with some of those cases that use the blank .22 to set off main charge.
