A couple years ago I saw a display of several new Outside hammer Peabody single shot rifles made by a new Providence Tool Co. in Wisconsin. They were beautifully made and cold be had in several of the old blackpowder calibers such as 50-70, 45-70 and even 50 Spencer. Anyone know if they are still in business? They also made excellent #21 Winchester sights.

Last time I checked their website it told me it was under construction, just checked again and it looks like the domain is for sale. Sad, I've a Conn Peabody that I really love and was waiting to see if their guns would take off.

It is a shame-- I saw about four or five and they were beautifully done . Exceptional metal work and superior wood. Tough to compete against the established companies for a limited market. I think there are some videos on YouTube.

There was one for sale recently on GB for a couple grand.

Frank, the owner I believe has had some health issues, but I don't believe he's out of business.
Hopefully Two Bit Charlie will see this and give you some more up to date info
