Percussion Cylinder Throats

Hello!  Should percussion cylinder throats be the same or a thousandth bigger that the bore size?  I used plug gauges on my 1860 and Dragoon cylinders today, and the cylinder throats measured .449!

Next question, does anyone here do throat reaming on these?  If not, where does one get a reamer my machinist can use to do this?

I have never had an Italian clone that was bore size or a thousand over and have never had accuracy problems.  Soft lead smacking the very abrupt forcing cone seems to take care of any variation.

PLUS ONE to Pettifogger.  Have never seen Percussion cylinders sized larger than bore on Italian reproductions.  Have also not had accuracy problems with their percussion guns.

ADDED:  Currently, Longhunter Shooting Supply appears to be offering a service to open the chambers (Percussion don't have "throats") on Uberti .36 and .44 guns.  Might want to give them a call.

An old time Gun Powder shooter told me on percussion cylinders use a counter sink  tool and just lightly bevel the sharp edge of the chamber mouth. The operative word is LIGHTLY and it makes the ball easier to start and seat. All my guns except for an ASM Walker are done that way. I have not done the Walker because i seldom ever shoot it. Too heavy for my arthritic wrists.
