Rapine.38-40 hollow base bullet?

   I recently bought a Rapine hollow based .38-40 .401 diameter mold from an estate . Has anybody had any experience loading and shooting this bullet?  I'm thinking of trying it  with black powder in an 1889 Marlin rifle with SPG lube.

Jubal,

Just a suggestion on my part, stay with the solid base bullet in a cartridge Rifle.
I don't think the hollow base bullet will offer much help unless the bore is in a very warn out state from neglect and/or misuse.
