:P  > Well, one 18782 Open Top with a 4.74" barrel, one 1860 Thunderer griped 3" barreled with an R&D, and an 1872 Open Top with a 7.5" barrel in Californication jail...You would think that was enough. NOPE!  I sold my 1863 .31 Remington and its .32 S&W R&D cylinder, and bought an 1849 .31 Colt Wells Fargo 4" barreled model and a R&D .32 S&W cylinder for my pocket pistol!

I had to play with the cylinder pawl (hand) a little, before it would work properly, but now it is good to go.  The grip of this little girl feels so awesome!  Way nicer than the .31 Remmie, which was just a little too small.  The Remington 1863 was almost like a derringer feel to it.  This has an honest to God grippy feeling.  Hmmm, maybe it will take .32 S&W long, too?  I'll have to see.

BTW, Kirst discontinued all their .32 S&W Konverters about 5 years ago.  That is a shame, because I would love to have a gated Kirst for this puppy.  Anyone know if it will take .32 S&W long, as well as short?  I have about 100 of the shorts, but It would be a "little more better" if it shot longs, too.

If'n' it were me, so stricken..... I'd be talking to Gary "Hoof Harted " http://www.cartridgeconversion.com/Home_Page.php
Walt , Jay & Gary developed that little guy ....

He may even have , a few still around  :-\

Gary is a GREAT guy, I highly recommend his work .  ;)

Well, there is no cure so just keep going ;) .  Since you got the 'baby' size frame to go with your 'momma' sized frames, now you need a 'poppa' sized Dragoon or a Walker to add to the collection!
On a side note have you seen this new offering coming out soon:

I have a pair of 51 Navy 44 Confederate that I love to shoot.  I've come close to buying open tops a couple of times.

But my real addiction is hammer double barrel shotguns - especially 10 gauge.

Dang it, this stuff is highly contagious and some of us have lowered resistance.  I had a pair of pistols converted by HH a few years ago and they were really beautiful.  I am slowly converting most of my remaining Colt style revolvers, including one pair of Avenging Angels.  I am a big fan of the birdshead grips and am adding them to my Uberti guns while my .44 Piettas all have standard Navy grips added.  All new conversions will be with ungated cylinders as these are my favorite cap and ball shooters also.  I use only the c45s in my conversions and really consider it to be the ideal modern substitute for the old Henry .44 round in conversions.

Yep, my load for my Open Tops and my Henry is: 200 grain bullet, .45 Schofield case, and 7 grains of either Unique or Trail Boss.  It gives about 1125-1150 fps from the Henry, duplicating the original .44 Henry Flat rimfire load.  Probably about 800-850 from the pistols.  I prefer Trail Boss, as it is pretty darn smokey compared to Unique.
