Have a few things I am working on.
My Maynard #2, have purchased & test fired cartridges, inconsistent in firing. Drilled out the flash holes to 1/16. Fires consistently now.

Maynard # 2, converted. Got my 1st batch of cartridges. Too large to chamber, Seeing if RMC will adapt to my specifications. The picture below show both with the Maynard 50/50 1873 inserted into the chambers to indicate the size of the chambers are the same.

Lee Navy; Figured how to get the extractor installed, & assemble the trigger/sear assembly where the  it catches the firing pin, & operates. Ordered a batch of ammo to test. If it works, I doubt that I will use in competition, (it was butchered to carbine length).

Waiting on delivery of a new acquisition, 1871 Remington pistol
Recieved the 1871, ir is a work in progress, it is missing the Block & Sear spring. I think I found a source for the replacement. I figured at 50 cal center fire it would be 50/70, but the chamber isn't that long. An empty 50/70 sticks out 1/2". It appears the Spencer 56/50 will work. The picture of the 1871 below is with an empty 50/70 iin the chamber, also empty 56/50 side by side with the 50/70.

Update on the 1871, I received & installed the new block & sear spring, functioning now. I will try it out this weekend.

30 gr APP, 365 gr bullet, larger recoil then I expected, but manageable. All 5 cases had a little bulge in the case. Figured out where the bulge came from, there was a patch of rust that is a minor pit for the case to expand into.

Could that 1871 be chambered in .50-45; the carbine round?

I now have my first 50/70 Maynard rounds that will fit my converted rifle, I will load up a few to tryout before ordering 80 more cases.
