Since I LOVE the look of the 1862 pocket police but a conversion cylinder is not going to happen for that one I've been toying with the idea of converting an 1860 Army with the new short 5 1/2 barrel but using a fluted conversion cylinder. Problem is... I can't seem to find a fluted conversion cylinder for the 1860.

Does anyone know if that is even made?

Thanks for any help!

How much $$$ you got in your pocket?  Might be able to have a conversion cylinder fluted.  Not sure if that is even possible, but maybe.  Or spend even more $$$ and have one of the conversion 'smiths convert a fluted Army for you.

Fluting cutter.  Not cheap.  I didn't search for the best price, just what one looked like.  Good mill with the right size cutter would work fine.  I'd talk to folks that already flute rifle barrels.  A cylinder should be much easier than a barrel (except to hold).  Still won't be peanuts.

Well, shuckydarn.

Thanks for the help.

Now onto a slightly different project.
