LOL

I bid it at about 10 minutes left to about $475 knowing that it would bring $400 based on previous sales and the feelings of y'all.
Then it stooped at just less than $500 and I thought WTF, I'll go 502.99.

It will be interesting to see if the accoutrements and case actually date to the gun. ::)

Hoof, after you receive the gun ya might be happy ya won it, don't see to many of those on the market-at least in the places I venture in. After reading the info you posted about Navy Arms/G&U, I got curious and dug out some of the books I have on black powder firearms (esp Italian repo's) and found that some of them had some history on the early 50-70's creation and manufacture of cap and balls. When I got the books I sort of skipped over the front part of some of the books, going more for history of Colt/Remingtion,etc original guns and those that have been reproduced.

Until the early 70's I was pretty ignorant on black powder firearms, esp handguns. The first cap and ball I ever saw or shot was a 36 cal 51' Navy a friend bought. This lead me to buy my first around March of 72', a EuroArms 51' Navy in 44 caliber that had 'Army Model' stamped on the top of the barrel. I thought this was the real deal in that Navy Models were 36 caliber and Army's were 44's. Another friend who bought an identical 51' in 44 caliber and I didn't look close at the cylinder's and thought the Navy ship engraving were scratch's on the cylinder. This got a laugh from the vendor at the gun show and a laugh from my friend who had bought the 36 caliber Navy some time before that. He was there for my purchase and let us know how uninformed we were and still lets me know once and a while of my early cap and ball ignorance (don't ja' Jubal). Anyway take care all, spring is one day closer than it was yesterday.

Crow, you were right! I am pretty happy.......

Pretty obvious it was all bought from Navy Arms at the same time.
The flask is a "Colt's Patent" one with a navy arms marked spot. The Bullet Mould is marked Navy Arms and the two Cap Tins (one still sealed) are Navy Arms, so I'm venturing to say the Presentation Box came from Navy Arms also.
This whole set is Clean, Clean, Clean!

Seller was awesome too! They did not charge me a "buyers Premium" or credit card fee, called and asked how I wanted it wrapped/shipped and followed my requests removing the pistol and mould from the wooden case (they usually bust the dividers if left in for shipping) wrapped the heck out of it and mailed it priority.
VERY PLEASED!
