This past Sunday I went to a monthly.

Shot 5 stages of smokeless.  All guns.

I felt shame. 

Wanted to hide under the blankets of my bed.

I had to come home and rub black on my chest so I could feel better.

Clean those guns very carefully while you ask forgiveness.  Then, put them up and sin no more.

How I keep from sinning is to use cap & ball revolvers and then I cannot use smokeless even if tempted by the smokeless siren songs of corruption. Cemetery, you have shown the cleansing effect of going to confession and admitting your relapse.

Cemetery, you will be a long time healing from that terrible incident. Your guns will never be the same. Since everyone makes mistakes in life, consider this one of the worst and try to learn from it. This is so bizarre, is it possible the Russians put something in your last shot of whiskey?

"I must have no soul!" I can at non CAS shooting events, shoot with equal fervor smokeless firing rifles and handguns right along with their black powder firing cousins. I can walk along my favorite shootin spot (a wooded river area) carrying both a smokeless cartridge firing hogleg/rifle while having a fire, smoke spewing cap and ball or black powder cartridge also strapped to my hip. In my back yard range I'll shoot both smokeless and black powder firing hoglegs and rifles with equal intensity, firing smokeless followed by black, switching from one to the other, although I donot fire smokeless in anything designed for black only. So far, I haven't lost any sleep, felt any guilt, gone into depression, sought any counseling, had bad thoughts of myself, thought about selling all my possessions and moving to a remote island or succumb to living on the streets. In fact after any shooting sessions where I have shot smokeless only or a combination of both smokeless and black powder shootin firearms, I feel pretty good and satisfied and happy. In fact, I'm feelin pretty happy right now. A happy shooter am I.

It is terribly depressing to be around those that have no soul.. The dedicated smokeless shooter, although I do not understand, I can feel it in my heart to forgive them.
Those soul less ones that know the difference and still continue to mix smokeless with black I cannot forgive.

I have a cool 92 Browning.  It's chambered in two different calibers, which one it is at the moment depends on the mission.  When I'm shooting a Cowboy Action match it's chambered in 44 Extra Long Russian.  This chambering is for black powder ammo only.  For dispatching varmints around Meadow's Edge (my ranch) it's chambered in 44 Magnum charged with heathen fad smokeyless ammo.

This very versatile little rifle has served me well in both rolls.  I do change hats according to the mission of the moment.
