Okay, here is a run down on these inexpensive, Philippine built .45s. I have had three of them and there are still two here. [the third was traded to a guy who HAD to have it]. They use a good grade of steel and the final finishing is a very well done flat oxide. Internally, they pay attention to the gun running right and smoothly. All of mine came with decent triggers that with a little work re very clean and light. The fixed sights are clear and easy to see, just a hair taller than the nubs on an original Colt but will pass the 10 foot rule. The only problems were with the earliest ones had poor magazine quality control and the recoil springs didn't last long, both easily fixed. With Mec Gar or similar magazines they run great.

They also come under the logo of several vendors
Cimarron, Taylor's, Rock Island , Iver Johnson...

I have one of the polished Blue Cimarron's , and bought Chip McCormick magazines ...feeds surplus ball, hollow points , Evil Roy Cowboy
and my reloads with no issues.....

It came with 2  8 round mag's that say Made in Italy
when planets align...do the deal !

Shot my Cimarron in a couple of shoots. Ran fine, nice finish, a pretty pistol. Way less than a nickeled Colt!
BTW, that's my Tim Strawn outfit.

Ed, can I ask where you got the correct hammer and safety?

I'm thinking the real 1911 Colt parts came off fleabay or GB. Hopefully before the months out I'll ship my rebarrel 2 in Smith project and these blue parts to Fords to be nickeled.

The magazines shipping with them now are by ACT mag or Mec-Gar and run fine.

Off-topic but any south paws in WB? If so how do you cope with thumb safety, use your trigger finger or support hand?

DeaconKC

Bulldog, I decided to run it left handed last week and to me anyway, using the support hand for the safety was the easiest. Had to wait til I found a LH holster for it! Using the trigger finger on the mag release was actually easier than the thumb of my right hand when shooting right[handed, so that was a surprise.

We don't use the thumb safety in Wild Bunch.

Baltimore Ed

Pull it out of the holster, shoot the pistol course of fire, place on the prop with slide locked back. You can use your long gunand then go back to your 1911, load it, shoot a second course of fire if needed. Drop mag, show clear, holster and you?re done. Thumb safety is never engaged.

Our club has done scenarios where the 1911 was grounded, a long gun shot and then the 1911 reloaded to finish the stage. MD did it that way as we shoot a WB and cas match simultaneously.

Just an update, over a thousand rounds through my basic one. The only changes, new grips and I have one of those Wilson grip panels on front [which is not legal for WB, but okay for Zoot].As long as I do my part, it has given solid accuracy. I run almost all FMJ or cast at normal velocities and bullet weights. Springs have held up well and no compression on the spring yet. This one uses any magazine I shove into it. It has smoothed up on the trigger without having any attention from a smith. I am very pleased with it.

@DeaconKC, I have some curious issues with some mags, where it won't accept them with 8 rds. Not all, mind you, just a certain one or two mags. What about you?

wildman1

Take the spring etc. out of the mag you will find that the mag follower or whatever it is called is longer in some mags and bottoms out when you put the last round in. The cartridge is pushing up against the slide.

wildMan beat me to the answer. Also, check the inside of the mag itself while it's apart. Make sure it is clean and that the follower is free. Also, like Glocks, 1911s demand magazines in tolerance, mark the mags and if it is not running right after cleaning, contact the manufacturer and replace it.
