We're back from a great experience.  Shot the Squinty Eye shoot at Virginia MN, then went fishing on Vermilion Lake.  What I'm reporting here is the success we had at this fantastic shoot.  First, the Long Range shoot on Friday.  Three of us were shooting the big 500 grain 45-70 Big Lube®LLC bullets and two were shooting the 255 grain 38-55 Big Lube®LLC bullets.  We did ring and bong the targets out to 500 yards.  The 45-70s did a better at the 500 yard distance.

Then, Saturday and Sunday we shot the Squinty Eye main match.  Pards, this shoot is a hoot.  We (our camp) shot all black powder for the entire event.  Sometime this week I'll clean my guns.  The entire match was shot and all the gun cleaning waited till we were back in our home digs.  Accuracy remained great and function stayed easy.  The only problems we had were with the interesting and fun stage scripts.  Squinty Eye is the shoot for you if you are looking for challenging and enjoyable shooting.  Don't expect up close and huge targets.

Yours in smoke!

Glad it worked out well for you. Missed you and "the camp" at the Wisconsin State Championship match on the 26th, 27th, and 28th.
Had fun shooting Frontiersman, and the long range stuff.

After Squinty Eye we went fishing for a week at Vermilion Lake.  Fishing was slow but we had a good time regardless.  Next big shoot for me will be Mississippi Fandango.  See you there Flatbush?

I like the Mississippi Fandango, but the rest of my vacation days are dedicated to deer hunting in the archery and gun seasons. Gotta camp and hunt on public land, so hopefully there are more deer than hunters! lol

We had a hunter here on our land this afternoon.  He's most welcome.  I have one other that hunts here.  Pointed sticks shot by all.  During Deer rifle season, I shoot my heathen fad smokeyless .257 Durham Jet.  Many twins and triplets this year on my game cameras.  Urban deer no longer fear people.  They just eat their gardens. . .
